POLICIES, PROCEDURES, & GUIDELINES:
- Prior to participating, participants must review the SCGA’s Policies & Procedures.
FORMAT:
- All players will participate in an 18-hole, stroke-play championship
- Awards will be given to those who finish in 1st through 5th place. In the event of a tie for first place only, there will be a hole-by-hole playoff following the conclusion of regular play.
REGISTRATION:
All players must check in at the SCGA registration table located near the golf shop. Registration will open at 8 a.m.
STARTING TIMES AND PAIRINGS:
- Starting holes and pairings will be e-mailed to players and posted online at scga.org one week in advance of the championship.
- 9:30 a.m. shotgun start.
- Players are to be at their carts by 9:15 a.m. for announcements. Scorecards and player information will be on the carts prior to the start of play.
TEES & YARDAGE:
- All yardages and course information can be found in the Yardage Information tab located on the Championship Portal.
PRACTICE ROUNDS:
- Practice rounds are a privilege, not a right. The SCGA works with a variety of facilities throughout the course of the year, all of which have unique policies and procedures when it comes to practice rounds. These opportunities will be provided at the sole discretion of the host facility.
- We are guests and must follow all facility policies and guidelines when on property. Behavior during practice rounds will be subject to the SCGA Code of Conduct.
- Players may contact the golf shop at (661) 254-4401 ext. 217 following the close of entries to arrange a practice round.
- Practice rounds will be allowed on a space-available basis. The dates of Tuesday, November 29 and Wednesday, November 30 (between 12:30 – 12:50 p.m.) have been blocked for SCGA Senior Club Champions.
- Green fees will be $50 including cart. Players may elect to walk for their practice round.
DRIVING RANGE:
- The driving range will be available by 8 a.m. the morning of the championship.
- Range balls will be provided compliments of Valencia CC and the SCGA.
FOOD SERVICE & PURCHASES:
- The snack bar will be open during the day for purchases.
- The SCGA will host a players’ luncheon after the completion of play.
RULES OF PLAY:
- The Rules of Golf as approved by the USGA and The R&A govern play.

GOLF CARTS & PULL/PUSH CARTS:
- Golf carts are included with the entry fee; however, players who can walk may do so.
- There will be a maximum of two carts per group and two bags per cart. Players wishing to ride will be expected to share a cart with another player.
- Each player is entitled to one seat in a cart. If a player brings a caddie, the caddie may ride provided there is a vacant seat in one of the carts. Otherwise, either the player or the caddie must walk.
- Drivers must be at least 16 years of age (or older if club policy dictates).
- Pull or push carts are permitted if a player chooses to walk.
CADDIES & SPECTATORS:
- Players may provide their own caddie (see the section on golf carts).
- Spectators are permitted but are required to walk unless those with ADA disabilities. Spectators seeking to use a golf cart due to a medical or ADA-related reason must contact the SCGA in advance of the qualifier. Spectators must adhere to all policies set forth by the facility and cart fees apply.
DRESS CODE:
Appropriate golf attire must be worn, including adhering to any facility-specific policies.
CANCELATIONS & REFUNDS:
- To withdraw for any reason prior to the start of an SCGA competition, a player must notify the SCGA Championships & Golf Operations Department at champs@scga.org.
- Failure to notify the SCGA will subject the player to suspension from future SCGA competitions.
- Refund Policy:
- Cancelation prior to the entry closing date: Full refund less a $20 administrative fee.
- Cancelation after the entry closing date and more than 48 hours prior to the start of the competition: 50% of the entry fee.
- Cancelation within 48 hours of the start of the competition: No refund.
